Instructor-based CPR/AED/First Aid course incorporates “hands-on” first aid and CPR/AED training for the Adult, Child, and Infant. Includes instruction on-scene survey, recognizing the signs and symptoms of sudden illness, and/or injuries. Methods of treating patients with injuries: controlling bleeding, bandaging, and splinting. Triage principles/treating for shock and transporting patients to a local hospital. Legal aspects of providing CPR/First Aid (Good Samaritan Laws). Rescue breathing techniques, airway obstruction, and choking prevention. Basic description of physiology and anatomy of the heart and lungs. Recognition and treatment of cardiopulmonary emergencies such as:
- heart attacks
- bloodborne pathogens, and
- personal protective equipment.
*Upon completion of this course, a Certification Card good for 2 years shall be issued.
Meets the 2020 American Heart Association CPR and ECC guidelines and the International First Aid Science Advisory Board, and exceeds the requirements by Federal OSHA for the designated workplace responder.
All classes are taught by Certified Professional Instructors such as Nurses, EMTs, and Paramedics.
